I thought most of the Super Bowl commercials were blah and boring, just like large portions of the game. There were two commercials which I thought were amusing. Both of them required that the viewer was familiar with famous events/people from NFL history or iconic dramatic moments from HBO's current signature series. I liked that. At least in that way neither commercial insulted the viewer's intelligence.
